California Youth Ballet
was formed in 1998. California Youth Ballet is the 501(c)(3) nonprofit arm of California Classical Ballet consisting of teen and pre-teen dancers who are interested in furthering their pre-professional dance education. California Youth Ballet provides its talented young members with and opportunity to study ballet and dance in a professional environment with highly skilled educators. Dancers are given opportunities to perform on professional stages in programs that enhance their skills, challenge their growing abilities, and provide inspiration for future growth.
Events and Activities
California Youth Ballet sponsors at least two performing opportunities a year, an annual Nutcracker for which auditions are held every August or September, as well as a Spring Showcase every June, for which the program varies from year to year. All students are given roles; no one is turned away. Classical Ballet of California holds an annual Summer Dance Camp for the entire month of July for children 7-18. Students are introduced to other dance disciplines such as Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern, Musical Theater, Acting for Dancers, Pilates, Yoga, as well as a more intensive Ballet program.
